I thought you had Ron's book.RTM.There's a picture of it on page 16.The  
original cartridge in Cs was black.The only needle available was mono.When they  
came out with the Seeburg G (I think) they Changed to a different type of  
cartridge.The needle slides out.The color is red with a big sticker on the side  
saying "Seeburg Hi-Fi Magnetic" and a "Pc" in a circle (the Pickering  
trademark)That's the one I see in your picture.The original needles were  mono.The 
tips were 1 mil in size and had no up-down compliance for stereo  records.Mono 
records had 1 mil grooves and only needed the needle to move side  to 
side.Stereo records the groove is smaller(.7mil) and the needle needs to be  able to 
move up and down as well as side to side.Therefore mono originals will  eat 
stereo records.Most oldies reissues use .7 mil grooves regardless of whether  the 
song is mono or not.A lot of times they have the stereo version on them  
also.They sell stereo compatible needles for the redhead cartridge.Victory Glass  
carries them and I'm sure Ron has them too.The difference is the needle just  
sticks straight out on the originals and the stereo compatible ones have a  
little shaft that  kinda go sideways and then the needle juts out.
