Jim,
  The mouse shows up there, but, It will not show the option(s) that allow me to change that, and also the cursor size-I made it too fat, and I would like it to "disappear" while typing--

Ron,
You should be able to find it if you do Start/Control Panel/Printers and 
Other Hardware. Mouse should be under there & hopefully you'll be able 
to find it. On the Toshiba, it's under Advanced feature settings, then 
settings & tapping uncheck enable tapping.
