Probably onme of the flourescent ballasts as was suggested.Flourescent tubes
don't hum.To determine which one you can remove one flourescent tube at a
time and the ballast feeding that flourescent tube is the culprit. They get loose
laminations with age.You think that one's bad,you should hear the ballast in
the overhead light in the "junk room"(storage room) at the tv shop I work
at.The shop's been there since the 30s and the light fixture is probably from
the early 60s.Most of the others have either had the ballast replaced or the
whole light replaced. After it's been on about a minute it starts humming real
loud.Makes you hurry up and find what you are looking for and get out of
there....lol.
Also does the hum go away after you use up the credits? My 222 latch solenoid
hums once in a blue moon. After I use up the credits it stops and the next
time it doesn't hum.
