[Jukebox-list] 6sj7 metal or glass difference

Hi, just as an aside to your question regarding the
6sj7 tube. I was replacing the 6L6 output tubes on my
AMI B once and I suddenly got no sound at all. I
rather stupidly spend some time checking the amp and
asking friends what the problem was, thinking
something serious had blown. Thoughts of new
transformers sprung to mind. Then a friend suggested
checking the 6sj7. Adding a new one cured the problem.
The tube may have been at the end of its life and did
not like the shock of the new 6L6s. So if anyone
experiences this you can learn by my experience and
try the simple check first.
