When I first started work at HSC (called Halted Specialties Co. then) back
in 1978, we had a local company that bought parts from us. Lots of
start-ups with grand ideas in those days. They were attempting to build
something like this, but apparently couldn't get it to work before funding
ran out, then CD's came along and everyone predicted the imminent death of
vinyl. So, yeah, I guess your eBay item could be for real, but it isn't a
new idea! Oh, the company that was attempting to develop this idea was
called Carillon Systems, I think...wonder if any prototypes exist?
