Well, when I was at Ron's house, he told me it was "sudsy ammonia", and I
remember there used to be a brand of household ammonia called "Sudzy".
Couldn't find it anywhere, though. And every other kind of ammonia I found
had coloring and fragrance (usually lemon), which I wasn't sure would be
harmless. Ron later emailed me and said he bought his at Long's Drugs, and
that it did indeed have lemon fragrance (but the ammonia smell is still way
stronger!)...so I bought a half-gallon (smallest they had) of their brand of
ammonia for $1.99. Use in a well-ventilated area, rinse well, and use
compressed air or a heat gun (or hair-dryer) to blow-dry the rest of the
water out. If doing a Seeburg keyboard, unscrew the latch-bar solenoid and
the credit meter and put plastic bags over them with a rubber band to keep
them dry.
