I think it is about 50 - 50 whether the motor or gearbox is kakked.  The last
one I took apart (yes, I know they are not *supposed* to come apart, they are
rivited or crimped pot-metal edges) just needed to be un-gunked and one
of the gears put back onto the proper splined area of its shaft.  This was
for my Hamm's Scenarama sign.  If Jackie takes the motor out and sends it to me,
I may be able to perform the same ju-ju on it...no ju-ju water, but maybe some
chicken bones and colored sand will be spread...come to think of it, if the 
grease is dried up, ju-ju water (sudsy ammonia) may come in handy!
