[Jukebox-list] AMI / Rowe R-84

Caution--there are TWO different "opto's" that Rowe has used, and they are not interchangeable in most cases. The R-84 should use the one with the white plug--the last 45rpm units, and the CD's use the one with the red plug.
Test it as John wrote before deciding that you need one. Then clean it, and be sure that the "gear" that it "reads" is clean. Also, re-form the pins in the plug, even if it tests good.

James, I have ONE in stock that I don't wish to sell because I mistakenly
bought one thinking it was my problem and wasn't. I'll probably keep this
one forever just in case. Be sure your mech control unit is good.

problem is with the optical switch. These seldom go bad- I could count on
one hand the number of bad ones i've encountered in 23 years of operating
and repairing Rowes.
