Jukeboxes are usually an important part of my Christmas.
Every year (for more than 30 years now) I host a big
Christmas party for friends and family. Since I have a
pretty small house, most of the action takes place
outside, around a roaring bonfire. The "Perpetual
AMI" entertains guests outside, and the M100-A takes
care of guests inside.

This year, however, due to the worst wind storm in 40+
years, I had no power for the annual shindig. My lights
went out Thursday and didn't come back on until Tuesday.
Lots of people still don't have power. So, there was no
jukebox entertainment this year. We had a lot of Coleman
lanterns and kerosene lamps, a generator for the well,
and since the septic system is now a pump type, men
were expected to use the "natural facilities" and women
were admonished to flush only every half dozen uses
or so. Still, it was a great success. Someone suggested
plugging the AMI into the generator, but the generator is
as loud as a lawn mower, and that would sort of cut in to
the enjoyment of the music. Letting it run for 10 minutes
every two hours to recharge the pressure tank for the
well was enough of that racket. But the fun went until
3:00 AM! No wind storm grinch stole this Christmas.

Merry Christmas, everyone.
