[Jukebox-list] Rockola Capri Deluxe 2

Greetings fellow Jukers!
 
I've just taken delivery of  what I consider to be my first SERIOUS
jukebox, a Rockola 418-s Capri Deluxe 2. So impressed with the looks of
this one, chrome is spot-on, original glass beautiful , selection
buttons pristine and it's generally in great nick.selects fine,
writes-in fine, writes out fine..one problem. The Sound. My previous
jukes (a 70's Rockola lastly) have really kicked ass, where as this one
sounds no better than a slightly-muffled ghetto-blaster!
I've tried various combinations of balances, tones etc but to no avail,
it still sounds dreadful..The top speakers are barely there when played
in isolation, and the bottom speakers in the base of the cabinet sound
muffled and distorted. I've started by ordering a new stylus, as it
looks very dodgy indeed, but I think it may well be the amp. It's still
the original of course.
Anyway, watch this space as Project Capri progresses, it wasn't much
money to buy so I'm going to really go for it, inspired by Jackie!!
