[Jukebox-list] A better understanding

Hi All,
Speaking for myself only, I don't mind helping anyone--"newbie" or "old timer", but it becomes a real drag when the problem is described as the "widget that pushes the lever don't work". I think that anyone wishing to "fix it himself", or learn, should invest a little time reading the book, before asking questions. If the person is un-willing to do this, he / she should "call a pro, and be willing to pay a pro". I know that some of the books are not that good--in fact, in some cases totally wrong ! However, it does form a reference point, from which we can proceed in a logical (for me) fashion.

Wes, thanks for your comments. I guess you are right,
I was only making an observation, but I seem to have
upset a few people. to them I apologise. At the end of
the day, we are all out to help each other, pursuing
the common goal of keeping the jukeboxes going and
sharing knowledge and information. Well, thats my
interpretation of the forum anyway. Maybe I should not
have made my comments. Hats off to the more
experienced knowlegeable amongst us, without whos help
I am sure a great number of machines would have been
scrapped years ago. One further comment, imagine if
you will a young person starting out in the jukebox
hobby and stumbling across this forum seeking help and
advice, comments like RTM or RTFM, although most of us
could see the humour in this, a newcomer might see it
as very unfriendly and rather intimidating. We are not
all going to live forever and it will be the next
generation who will inherit our machines, so I think
we should do all we can to encourage that by passing
on our accumulated skills and knowledge. Where would
we all be without Wes, Ron, Dr Know it all (Harold
Hagen at Always Jukin) and many other unsung heroes.
Keep the music playing. Regards Gary
