Jackie,
I MIGHT buy it for that price, but only if it were excellent, with the newer
style Pickering cartridge, and it had a model "V" or "VL" cover with the
medallion in good shape on it. I would then "re-sale" the parts. Other than
that--I think it's a little on the high side. But then again, I'm not a
"collector", of jukes or records-- just a "repair person".
The "pre-amp" can be thought of as the very first part of an amplifier---some
systems (magnetic type) require more "boost" at the start of the sound system,
and that's what the "pre amp" does. Other systems use a cartridge that outputs a
"stronger" signal, thus the "pre amp" section is not needed.
As for the "Wurlitzer speakers"--can you use them? That depends on the design
of the (added) amp you choose to go with the LU. If the speakers are low z, and
the amp is set-up the same, it will work. Same if the amp is set up for 70 VCV ,
and the speakers are also set up the same-- Ron Rich

  Thanks Ron,
the cabinet is limed oak (don't know the condition), there is no stand.
What is a preamplifier?
I have 2 really nice Wurlitzer speakers I bought for the Wurlitzer Wallbox
that I could use.
Do you think $250 is a fair price if it's in good condition?
Jackie
