They also made a TV-sized projector/viewer that used films
with a miniscule optical soundtrack that appeared about the
same time as 1/2" VTRs (which trounced it in the marketplace).
They were used for training films, trade show demos, things
like that.  I remember my opthamologist had one in his
waiting room for a while that played old episodes of the
National Geographic show.
