[Jukebox-list] Remote volume

Dan and Vickie,
Senior voices will probably confirm what I am saying.... The volume control
is in a low voltage audio circuit that is sensitive to picking up "noise"
from EMF feilds. The longer you make the wires in the pot feild the more
likely those wire will pick up noise that will show up in the music.
Hence the way to go as long as you want the volume of the music controlled
from a distance, AND you are using a pot to do it is to have a servo motor
circuit.
Regards,
Don

Subject: [Jukebox-list] Remote volume

Can anyone expalin why Seeburg went from a remote volume, with the Volume
Potentiometer located in the remote control, to the motorized more recent
type. It would seem logical, and much more cost effective to mount the
Poteniometer remotely?
Think about what it takes to control the pot remotely, compared to the pot
being remote.
Dan
