John,
If you want to remain friends with both people, I would advise you to stay out of the middle (but from the tone of your post, you know that). AJ price guide for 2005 lists it from $400 to $7900. If the 5U4 does not light ( and it should, only when scanning, and playing), and it won't pick-up the selections, it sounds to me that you will need to rebuild both the TSR ("control center") and the amp, and probably some work on the mechanism itself. Plus whatever "cosmetic" work the new owner wants--Could be "simple" or lots of work--hard to judge what's "fair" to both parties( AND to you). Ron Rich

Ive been asked to broker a juke deal between two friends. The owner is
looking for a fair price and the buyer would like to pay a fair price. They
have agreed that since I restore EM pinballs for fun and have restored one
Wurlitzer 1550, that Im the expert and that I get to set the price. I do
not want any hard feelings as we all go to the same church. I get to do the
repairs. So what would you recommend as a fair price for:
1958 Seeburg 201DH, Nice original unrestored, presently not playing (scans
back and forth), the rectifier tube does not glow and it looks like a
capacitor may be leaking. It was playing a few years ago and sounded great
then. The box is complete except for coin gear and in good condition
overall. The chrome of course has some pitting and cracking. The lights work
and the sides are solid but with a few scratches.
So what value would you put on this classic 50s Juke?
Thanks, John
