Bob,
I have been "told" that "Western Electric Piano Company" was always a "Seeburg Company". In fact, they were produced in the same factory. I have been told that the office entrance to "WEPCO" was on the back or side of the Seeburg factory--but they shared the same production line and shipping dock. Also have been told that the word "Piano" was part of the company name, to avoid problems with AT&T. Don't know how true the above is ( Seeburg also purchased "Eastern Electric Co", much later--they made the cig. machines)--Ron Rich

The Seeburg Audiophone that was on eBay a couple weeks ago was an eye-opener
for me...I didn't know they used pneumatics on early jukeboxes!
Here is another one, but it's a Western Electric "Selectraphone"...mechanism
looks to be identical to the Seeburg. The ad says that Seeburg bought the
line and produced it under their name for a while. The upside is that this
one does not need as much restoration as that Seeburg did. I'm really
tickled to see those little bellows actuators for the tone-arm!
