[Jukebox-list] General amplifier question

I have used a trick on transistorized amplifiers to prevent dummies from
smoking them. All that is necessary is to put the proper wattage lamp in
series with the AC supply feeding the amp. Any overload or speaker mismatch
will only light the lamp and limit the power consumption of the amplifier.
Of course it sounds terrible when the lamp lights up and any sane person
will run for the volume control. Wes

I don't think this is the case with either Seeburg, or (later style)
RoweAMi "transistor" amps. Their power supplies rarely cause any problems.
