Ron, I HAVE never been forced to clean these discs. The persons going to
all this trouble does not have a grasp of the concept. Wes

Justin,
I have literally repaired thousands of "Seeburg steppers", and I don't
think that I have removed more than 10 of the contact plates ("square
phenolic boards"). Just a drop or two of "Seeburg Oil" in the wiper path,
and they will "self clean" --even those that have not been used in 40 years.
Speaking of oil--follow the instructions in the manual for lubrication----.
When the pulse is weak, if it's not the tube, I have found it to be a
resistor much more often than the 5uf cap--the 300x50 cap. is also more
prone to failure, in my opinion. However, I have seen a couple of the 5's
explode-- Ron Rich
