Maybe so, but after the styling revolution Seeburg led,
those locations would be dives, not corner cafes. I remember
seeing a prewar Symphonola in the pilots' hangout in "The
Right Stuff." That's the kind of place I'd expect to see
such a machine in that time frame.
Ob-D'oh!-story -
A local operator in Tacoma told me he once had to pay the
local garbage dump $25 apiece in the early 50s to dump a
truck load of 1015s. "I considered that $250 well spent -
I didn't have the room to store them. If I'd have only
known..."
