[Jukebox-list] Grounding Issue

This is true, you will be ground, esp. if you are barefoot on a wet floor.
However, it is even worser if the apparatus is supposed to be grounded with
all its' metal parts, but the tinkerer has forgotten a piece of trim
somewhere on the cabinet. If you then have a short there, you are even more
likely to receive a fatal shock if you're touching say the dome frame or the
selection panel.
So if you're doing a grounding job, it has to be 100%.

I think the GFI is a better bet.

117 vs. 230 Volts and 50 vs. 60 Hz- these can all be fatal. It is
unfortunate that 50 and 60 Hz were chosen as worldwide standard, since they
are the most dangerous to our health. Our muscles are continously contracted
by AC current at these frequencies and we can't let go even if we would like
to. :o(
20 or 100 Hz would have been better choices from this point of view.

               Jens
