Karl, prior to his sixty-fifth birthday a friend of mine was told he
needed open heart surgery. And he with an attitude so familiar to us in the
service profession, he went shopping for a cut-rate surgeon to perform this
task. He found in a penny pincher tabloid an advertisement stating 'bargain
rates on all invasive surgery'. Being somewhat cautious he looked up this
person and went to examine his professional facilities. He found that he did
his work in his home on the kitchen table using his wife's butcher knife. He
did have some cans of ether on the shelf for anesthesia. He was told he
could do the job for $1,500.00.
He opted to wait after his birthday and let Medicare pay for the
exorbitant prices real professionals charge. Wes
