[Jukebox-list] Cheap juke buyers (Was: trade-in for a 200 select?)

One of the first jukeboxes I restored and sold was a Wurlie 1900. Ten years
later I got a phone call from someone who turned out to be working at the
advertising firm that had bought it. Someone had broken the dome glass, and
they asked me if I could fix that. I went by a few days later, replaced the
glass and did some minor service on their machine. They told me that it had
worked flawlessly ever since they bought it, and they had used it for
countless partys over the years. Evevry Friday afternoon after work they
would sit together in the bar where they kept it and have a few beers and
listen to the jukebox. They were very happy with it.

I was a total beginner when I first restored that machine and can't take all
the credit. I attribute it to the sturdiness of the 1900 and the fact that
it was in very nice shape when I first got it.
Thank you Wurlitzer!

And thank you all jukebox makers for all the joy you have given to millions
and millions of people through the years.

        Jens
