Guys this is doing my head in...my 2300s was working fine for a few
months (took me 12 months to restore it...part time).

Then one day when a selection was made, the buttons stayed down, and
nothing else happened.

The only way to release them was to turn the machine off.

No fuses have been blown.

If a selection pin is thrown manually from inside the machine, then the
record is selected and plays OK.

Since then I have...

Cleaned and reset all the selection switches
Removed and refitted the plastic plugs from the selection assembly to
the electric selector (checking possible bad connections)
Removed and refitted the plugs into the stepper
Reset the start switch

Anyone have any suggestions for a non-expert, and non-electrically
trained dimwit to try next?
Please no electrical techno jargon as I wouldn't understand it anyway,
me being mechanically trained !
