I haven't bought a juke box for a long time because the
prices have been so high. Although, a couple years ago
I bought a Seeburg 148 hideaway model that was in pretty
good shape. The fellow who had it was trying to sell it
for parts, but I decided I'm going to restore it and
have a fully functional last-of-the-Freborgs hideaway.
It's in a very attractive gray crinkle-finish metal case,
with a chrome script "Seeburg" logo on the front. The
front and back panels come off, and the lid opens, so
you get the best view of this seldom-viewed mechanism
at work. I'll probably start on it next year. I think
it will be a lot of fun. And I paid less than $200 for
it!
