Rick,
Is there still a small cap connected to the motor wires (on the terminals up front where the motor wires connect)? If so, cut it off ! (you don't need it). Ron Rich

  Hi all,
After replacing the motor cap, that didn't help at all, so I replaced the motor as well (pulled from another 222). now, it only scans to the right, left is dead. I reversed the wires on the motor and it went left but not right and got a very large arc at the reversing sw when I changed that sw to the other side. I could only get a reading on the motor windings in the 200,000 range (motor disconnected at that time) and both windings read 180kohms? I again measured the ac at the terminal strip and got 117 at both. I have no idea what's wrong here. Also when I tripped a record to play, it played too slow. Any suggestions? Did that first motor take out the new $30 cap? Thank you, Rick.
