Do you really want to mess around with the blue rings and
all that stuff?  But if you really must, you need a new
motor (although see below) and the spindle adapter that
glues on over the 1/4" turntable spindle.  I've seen some
motors that had a sleeve on the shaft to drive the turntable
at 78.  Remove that sleeve (with a set screw) and it will
drive the turntable at 45.  This must have been a "universal"
replacement motor.  If you have this motor (which my A had)
you're one step ahead.  BUT DON't LOOSE THE SLEEVE!
