Try the record auctions.  Record Finders (recordfinders.com),
Recordsmith (recordsmith.com) and Kurt Nauck (78rpm.com) are
the biggest that I know of.  Be warned - rock 78s are
expensive.  How about $75 for Hound Dog/Don't be Cruel in
V+ condition?  That alone might make you want to convert
to 45s.  :-)

The late 40s and early 50s were a pretty bleak period
for popular music.  Big bands were on the way out and
rack hadn't come along.  Think "How much is that doggy
in the window" or "Mama loves mambo".  There was also
the second recording strike to contend with.  There are
some gems there, but also a lot of dreck.
