The only way I think you can tell them apart is to have both in your
hand and compare. I have changed these mechanism back and forth without
worrying about what cam was in it. In my opinion, changing cams was somewhat
paranoid. Wes

When I re-converted my AMI A back to 78 play I kept the
45 tonearm because it was lighter than the 78 arm (which
I didn't have). This is the first I've heard that there
was a change to the cam involved, too. So now there are
*two* parts I can recommend that people *don't* swap back
when re-converting to 78! I've got a partial 40-selection
mechanism as well. I wonder which cam it has. How do
you tell the cams apart, Wes?
