  No, at least with the "45" tonearm, you can adjust the
  baseplate to get it to land on a 78 properly.  There's
  a lot of adjustment range there.  All the cam effects
  is the up/down movement of the tonearm.  The lead-in 
  and run-out adjustments are completely independent.
