Hi Jackie,
No, Elvis has left the building in my case :-)
Actually I have the 3400 (200 selection, 100 record capacity). I bought
it in 1979 at
a place in Van Nuys California called G.A.M.E.S which stood for
Great American Mechanical Entertainment Sales. So it was 9 years old
when I bought it. It's working fine, and I play it everyday also... I
play it so
often that I get tired of the songs in it and have to change records
every 3 weeks
or so. And yes, it does sound good... nice crisp highs and deep base.
It's had a few problems mainly with the microswitches and a dirty
contact plate
under the carousel... But nothing major.... I did notice over the
weekend that
the motor mounts are abit "droopy"... so that will have to be taken care
of soon.
Also the rubber bumper on the "backstop pawl" is hard and compressed. I
have
no idea where I'm going to get one of those.
But it does run like a top... I think we are the only 2 on the list that
has a 34xx series
machine. I know we're the only ones that really like this beast. It's not
a favorite of the list members...
I actually want another Wurly 3400 to work on when I'm not fixing computers.
