I normally do, it's just that I recently changed the arm for a later NOS
magnetic version and one or two records now skip due to the lower tracking
weight. I just havn't got around to replacing them so they got taken out,
hence the missing 'teeth'.

Dave,
Put records in all the slots. Simple as that.
Having it full also balances the basket and the basket adjustments should
be
made with it full so that records are removed and replaced correctly to
avoid binding or missing their slot and causing a blown fuse.
