    Gary, the original cartridge was a high output crystal (3 Volts). Most persons are now using an Astatic 51-2, but it does nor even put out 1 volt. To use this, I have always had to add a pre-amp stage to get enough volume.  Wes

Hi everyone, I am getting closer to buying a Rockola
1426 from a friend. it is working fine now, but he
says it may need a new cartridge. I am not familiar
with this machine, so can anyone suggest what to go
for and where could I buy one. If  the original spec
is not available is there an alternative and if so
what modifications would be required. Any help would
be appreciated. Thanks
