Karl, in the play rack there should be a 'zero credit' switch in close proximity of the credit ratchet wheel. This switch closes when the wheel is off zero. If all circumstances are right, this switch sends through a relay 30 VDC to the keyboard to energize the latch solenoid and the select lamp. This will not happen if the two series switches, one for numbers and one for letters are both closed. These switches prevent the latch coil from re-energizing until all buttons are at rest. These switches are not to be confused with the 'latch' switches that are normally open and initiate the start circuit when both a letter and number button are pressed. The series switches are normally closed. If you believe the play rack has been modified, we have complete good ones. Wes
