I agree that soldered connections are usually more reliable, and I much prefer the older ,"round","Amphonel" (SP?) type plugs. However, in the case of these connectors, crimp connections (if made using the correct tool) are just as reliable, and they have the advantage of better strain relief, due to the fact that the wires are not constrained at the junction. (at least that was the "selling point" for the connectors--I'm not sure, but I don't think cost was a factor, when you consider all factors). Ron Rich
