For everyone,
I had a great visit from Roy and Sissy Dean, Wes's Son from the Jukebox Junkyard yesterday. It was a very long drive from Georgia to Maryland but they arrived bleary-eyed in the late afternoon. Roy delivered a part to me and checked out my Statesman (NOT his personal favorite), my non-working Wurlitzer 2410 and my stolen (his words, not mine) Seeburg C.
I checked out his binder with all their fabulous work done on the restorations of Jukeboxes, needless to say, I found several that "I just gotta have". Had some old friends here visiting from Florida (he wants a Jukebox so bad but I have to try to talk his wife into it!), his name is Ken and he had been reading Wes's Book all week so when Roy arrived he wanted to purchase one and Roy just happened to have one in his van, they were both happy!
We said our goodbyes about an hour later and they were off for a Crab Dinner in the Historic town of Annapolis and this morning were meeting up with my friend, Richard Hack, to view his personal collection of Mechanical Music, are they in for a treat!!!
I can't say how wonderful it was to finally meet someone I have talked to for months on the list and on the phone. You can never have too many friends. It would be wonderful to hold a gathering once a year to meet everyone on this list, any planners? lol
Jackie
