Kyle,
I replaced C3100 & C3104 on the power supply board in the DCC. I'd suggest getting R.Rich's Microlog t-shooting guide, it's extremely helpful in understanding these animals. Between Ron & Tony Miller they cover all the bases. I've got a SPS160, USC2, a couple of STD4's that were all non-working when I got them, but with their book, it's been pretty straight forward to get um going and keep um runn'n.
If you're still t-shooting your problem ignore the part of my previous post stating that my juke passed the battery test. I had done the battery test after I allowed the juke to warm-up (or the leaky cap to charge). Doing the battery check immediately after powering up resulted in the double scan/no detent.

Hey, I'd be interested to see what you find as a culprit/solution. I have a
USC2 that sometimes does the same thing for the first 30 seconds or so. I
suppose somethings getting weak, but it's not a real issue... YET!

Classic symptom except if I allow the box to rest powered up for 15
minutes or so everything is normal which suggests to me a leaky cap. I
only had time today before going to work to try the battery test and the
mechanism detented at every space in both directions. So it looks like a
write-in problem. On page 36 of the Service Manual I see a write-in cap
on the gray box schematic. Is this one an electrolytic and if so
replaceable or is opening the gray box a bad plan? So far Ron Rich's
Microlog t-shooting guide hasn't failed me yet so I'll step through the
write-in procedure when I get a chance.
