If it does this every time, I would say look for a misadjusted or dirty
microswitch that is operated off of a cam somewhere (I'm not very familiar
with Wurlitzers, however).  If this only happens once in a while, and the
motor immediately takes off spinning when you turn the armature just a bit,
I would suspect brushes and/or commutator on the motor.  I hope, with the
help of Wurly gurus on this board, we get more appropriate advice and your
problem is soon conquered!
