Having said that new parts can also be faulty ones !
Solder can run and bridge unseen when you're removing old components.

Of course it wouldn't hurt to re-check your work, but couldn't this
simply mean that an old, bad cap was keeping the fault you're looking
at now from drawing enough current to blow the fuse?
