So, how do you find the 14* machines to work on?
One of my "future projects" is a 148 hideaway unit.
I was attracted to it because it was cheap, complete,
in pretty good shape and has two large panels,
front and back, that you can lift off, open the
lid, and walk all around it and watch it work.
The Freborg mechanism doesn't put on a very good
show in typical installations, but this machine
is pretty cool - and the way things are going with
people parting these out, it may be the last 148
hideaway left!  :-)  I've never powered it up because
even the previous owner couldn't tell me when it had
last been powered up, so I suppose I'm going to need
to rebuild the selection receiver and amp right off
the bat.  It's also been converted to play 45s and
I'm inclined to convert it back.
