Yes, AA1OH is a ham call sign: A(lpha) A(lpha) 1 O(scar) H(otel)
It tells you that when it was issued I was (still am!) in New England-that is what the '1' means-the USA is divided into 10 districts 0-9 and new England is district '1'.
The 'AA' tells you that it is an 'Extra' class license from the FCC.
