Rockola calls it the "selector", and yes, it is the round circular trip 
lever thing. The manual is pretty good in my opinion - it details different 
parts and their function, plus gives sequence diagrams for each phase of the 
cycle. Study this manual and you can learn exactly how the machine operates.
