The 1960 Wurlitzer 2400 series had three models
2400 200 selections
2404 104 selections
2410 100 selections
All were offered in mono or stereo, this being the second year stereo was
offered.
In the US the great majority were stereo, in Europe the mono version is
rather more common. This could be because Europeans are more conservative,
or perhaps it was hard to get hold of stereo 45s here in 1960?
200 selections may sound like a better offering, but what you get is a
massive title strip display that obscures much of the mechanism. Thus I
would say the 2404 or 2410 are more attractive.
The 2300 series had a major problem with a flimsy onesided dome support, but
this was cured in 1960.
I am not aware of any design flaws with the 2400, it is a solid and reliable
machine. One of the last collectable Wurlitzers.
You'll recognize the mechanism, but the 2410 has a much better mech than the
Statesman. Easy to work on.
