Thanks Jen,
the good news..........it's a stereo system, the seller just emailed me and
said it read "Stereo" Yeah!
Guess for now I don't have to worry about converting anything, I don't know
how well I would do, lol Thanks for all your info, I am saving the emails
and putting them all in a book for reference.

Yes, the mono amp can be used in the more valuable models 2000/2100 etc - it
is almost identical, and plugs right in except for the speaker plug. So it
can be sold.
Converting to stereo is easy if the power supply and amplifier have been
properly rebuilt.
If you were a purist, you would perhaps change the dome glass too, and even
the ID plate - but then it is getting ridiculous.
Another way to make stereo records playable is by using a magnetic or
ceramic cartridge and modifying the amp or using a preamplifier.
There are kits sold that do this.
