Jackie,
Unless someone closer to you offers to test and supply tubes, you can ship
them to me for testing and replacement of weak or dead ones. I have several
thousand tubes in stock, so likely have what you might need.
It is true there are lots of other things in that juke that probably need
attention before the tubes as generally they are pretty rugged and long
lasting...... but you never know. If you found a short in one tube the
short might mean some other part in the amp got damaged too.
With that in mind, make sure you label each tube with tape and a number or
something and draw its position on a paper map of the top of the amp. That
way when you get the tubes tested..... if there is a short in one of
them.... you know which socket it came out of and you know to have that part
of the circuit examined more closely by your electronics tech. The
labelling sounds dumb but in the case of more than one kind of the same tube
on a chassis ( like 6L6's) it can be good to know where the defective tube
was last operating.
Don't get too wigged out by what I say. Tubes usually ain't no big deal.
They are good, weak or dead. They can have a broken filament, a shorted
element or no vacuum left inside. Getting the tubes tested eliminates them
as a variable in the event the amp doesn't work.
Contact me off list, if you like.

Subject: [Jukebox-list] The Wurlitzer 2410 Stereo is home!
Hello to all,
I am excited, the 1960 Wurlitzer 2410s Stereo is home and it's in such great
shape...at least the cabinet. It has suffered some damage, maybe at some
point dropped or just roughed up a bit.
I tightened the 4 bolts before we loaded the machine on it's back. I had a
key for the Dome, Back Door, Money Door and a Sound Key so everything was
secured. The seller handed me some large springs, fuses, screws and a few
records and off we went.
When we got it in the house and opened it up, I realized things were not as
nice inside. The large springs............I finally figured out they went
under the mech tray! The fuses, there are places on the amp that have no
fuses. They do not give the size of the fuse on the outside of the amp so
am not sure what size to buy. There are 4 fuses in the amp, if anyone knows
what size I need to get, I would appreciate it. Also, the Pricing Unit Fuse
is a 8/10....what size do I replace that with?
The selection letters and numbers would press in but nothing happened. I
had to unplug the machine to get them to release. If I put a quarter in,
nothing happened. The machine did light up. the lower florescent bulb
works, the upper bulb is missing. Lowes and Home Depot do not carry a 30"
bulb, now I know.
The Motor is hanging by 1 bolt on the bottom, there should be 4.....3 are
broken in half. There is 1 belt, looks like it should have 2.
The tubes.........I do not have a clue if they are burned out. One of them
is black/shiny on 2 sides, the others look normal, whatever that is, LOL
I see there are Switch Stacks on the Selection Board. I cleaned the
switches and must have moved a switch because now when I turn it on it
buzzes and the letter and number buttons won't select. I turned it off in
case something was being damaged.
I have posted some pictures on the Google group site
http://groups.google.com/group/jukeboxpictures?lnk=li&hl=en
if anyone is interested. If there is a Wurlitzer Guru out there, I am
anxiously waiting to hear from you!
I am sure this is "fixable" and I am up for the work and challenge. It is
really a beautiful machine, this holds a close second to my Seeburg C!
Thanks for taking the time to read this book,
Jackie
