[Jukebox-list] AMI model K with 'Seeburg Conversion' (???)

I'm restoring an AMI model K 120 electric select. The covers to the
pulse generator and pulse converter are stamped with the wording:
'Seeburg Conversion' I didn't think anything of this until I tested a
few selections and found they were completely haywire. I already have
an earlier AMI model i 120 and noticed the wiring was different on
the pulse converter around the stepper unit home switches and the
transfer relay so I rewired the K pulse converter to match. The
selections follow a different pattern now but are still not correct.
Currently the letter stepper doesn't seem to advance beyond 'A' and
gives the following pattern:
Press A1 you get A1
Press B1 you get A2
Press C1 you get A3 etc
Press B2 you get A3
Press C2 you get A4
Press D2 you get A5 and so on
Presumably the pulse generator wiring needs to be altered too.
What was the idea behind this? Would this machine have been used as a
hide-away servicing Seeburg wallboxes? Has anyone encountered this
problem in having to rewire the pulse gen. and pulse converter to
make the machine work correctly of its own button bank? Thanks for
any responses.
Paul in the U.K.
