[Jukebox-list] AMI model K with 'Seeburg Conversion' (???)

Hi Paul,
I think you had two options - leaving it as a Seeburg conversion or putting it back as original. I was trying to figure whether having had both pulse generator and converter modified to Seeburg, whether the title strip index and carousel indices would have needed to have been re-mapped (basically I can't remember, on an AMi K, what is the B side of A1 - is it B1 or A2?).

Because you have now rewired the pulse converter you are now neither one nor the other - hence you are bound to have anaomalies with selections. Your choice would now seem to be either put the pulse converter back to "Seeburg" or put the pulse generator back to "AMi".

I've maybe confused the issue a bit but to answer your question, the reason for these conversions would have been to use the machine with Seeburg wallboxes as Jens indicated. But I don't think that the jukebox would have been purely a hideaway - because in that case the pulse generator would not have required conversion because that part would never be used.

  Norman.

  Service bulletin #124 dated June 26, 1956

Subject: H-1968 conversion kit for modifying the AMI G-200 phonograph to
operate with Seeburg Wall Boxes.

This is to make the jukebox compatible with 3W1 and 3WA wallboxes.

H-1909 pulse generator marked Seeburg Conversion
F-2955 Switch assembly
F-2196 electrlytic capacitor
S-106K carbon resistor 1/2 watt
F-2591 Instruction sheet (this was later updated to F2591-A as per service
bulletin #131)

So the system has been changed quite a bit. I would recommend getting an
original pulse converter and taking out the added components. Easiest would
be to compare side by side with a non-modified machine.

But your setup may be different, since the AMI K120 has another selection
system. There is no info on this in the Service Bulletins what I can see.
What are the markings on the pulse generator?

I think I have some "Seeburg conversion" marked parts on the shelves.
