Oiling them does help ! BUT, only if done BEFORE, they ware out the top bearing--which I think happens much more often then a gear failure. Ron Rich

Upside is that they're easy to replace. Victory glass carries them. I don't
think direction is important, but why not get one with the same dircection
and near same rpm. Lower rpm is preferrable to higher (noise!) so why not 5
rpm. A new motor will be more quiet than an original.
And they're not expensive. Why not this one from VG: "36-1864 Color cylinder
motor, right 3 RPM as original $25.00"
But better check shaft diameter etc. Steve or Denny might know what you
need. Or not. :o)
