It will come out either way. I find that the pinbank gets 'cocked' a little,
and binds up the shaft. Same for the pulley up front. I usually tap the
shaft back in from the front just enough to remove the pulley, then tap it
from the back and pull the shaft out the front. It's easier for me to pull
the shaft that way while supporting the pinbank. Twisting while you pull
helps, as does rocking the pinbank if it gets cocked.
