[Jukebox-list] Back at the Wurly 2410?

Jackie,
The latch solenoid should energize when the coin is inserted--same time as the "select light" turns on. If it's not doing so, it may be that the contacts that are "moved" by it are not making good contact. This is common on Wurlys. Clean the "normally closed" ("NC") contacts, and all others, with a burnishing tool, and adjust ALL contacts, as shown in the manual. Check to be sure that the NC contacts are opening, when the solenoid is energized. The solenoid should never "buzz". Ron Rich

  Good Morning,
I decided to take another look at the Wurly 2410 while I am waiting for the Rockola's Amp to come back.

This morning I cleaned all the contacts under the selection board for both the letters and numbers. There was some grease on the latches so that got cleaned as well.

I realized the Juke is NOT set on freeplay. There was NO select light on until I added a quarter, then the select light came on.

When I select a letter, the latch solenoid engages and then it buzzes. The Letter button stays down. When I push the reset button a couple times, it disengages the latch solenoid. I am afraid to push a number button down until I get this solenoid buzzing issue fixed.

My question, is there anything care given to the solenoid itself, or is most of the issue with the latch switches?
As always,
many thanks for any thoughts,
Jackie
