AW: [Jukebox-list] RE: Jukebox?

Hello Jim,

thanks for the info.

So it must have been tough for the gambling machine industry only to set up their games in certain states and - probably - to debate with politicians.

I think if there is something illegal you never stop it completely. It's good that you can own old classical slot machines now. I'm sure no one would use them for commercial interest anymore.

Kind regards - Hildegard

The law differs from state to state. Here in Georgia, you can own a slot legally if it was made before 1950. This is a fairly recent law, as a few years ago it was illegal to own any slot here. Even though it was illegal, that didn't stop gambling - nearly every old time operator I've met had an old slot or two in the warehouse. I suspect law enforcement looked the other way in years past or was in on it. I'm sure others would have more knowledge on this subject than me.

Hello Jim, Ron, Wes and Kyle,

thanks for your inputs on the picture. So this has nothing to do with music!

I never saw a big gambling machine like this before but I guess they never
made it over here. Were they actually allowed everywhere in the States? Or
only in restricted areas?

Kind regards - Hildegard

Gambling device for sure.
It was the setting that gave it away. It looks like a Nevada/Lake Tahoe
hotel, and there's another machine of some kind near by.
